NEW WINE "CUVEE NOEL CALMEL" : |
|
Further
to the enormous success of the Cinquantenaire Rouge 1999, the
cooperative has decided to continue this kind of product. You
will remember that the Cinquantenaire wine obtained a Gold medal
and the Grand Prix at the Concours Initiative 42, picked out
among the 20 best wines of the year in 2002 by the Grands Chefs
de France.
This wine is based on the following grape varieties:
70% Mourvèdre and 30% Syrah. Careful land-parcel selection
and the labour of the wine-growers express the richness of our
terroir through this wine.
This wine has already obtained its first award :
Bronze medal at the Général Agricole Contest in
Paris.

| SUCCESS
FOR THE "L'ETE INDIEN" : |
| After
its success on the market, it is now the media's turn to appreciate
this nectar.
Extract
from Terre de Vins :
Cave
de Saint-Saturnin.
A lesson in balance and partiality for this late harvest
subtly unites the grape varieties Chenin and Bourboulenc.
These two kinds of grape are planted in the very rocky, calcareous
soils on the foothills of the Larzac. They become accomplices
to the exacting and insatiable winegrowers of Saint Saturnin
(already remarked in our pages and in our glasses with the
Seigneur des Deux Vierges). And they have got it right with
this November harvest in crates, matured in barrels then left
for a lengthy period on fine lees.

It has an old gold colour, and this wine harvest of the Indian
Summer (11€) has produced a nose of crystallized fruit,
including melon and quince, and then citrus fruits such as mandarin.
It has a charming velvety soft taste, with no heaviness nor
a display of fruit, and then a refreshing finish with menthol
accents. The word which would best describe this wine is the
following: ravishing.
What is more, this product obtained a bronze medal at the Concours
Initiative 42. This selection of grains harvested in November
on the grapes CHENIN and BOURBOULENC have already delighted
many wine-lovers.
These harvests have a particularity in that they associate
the village schools with the event, initiating the children
in the discovery of our profession

2003 HARVEST !
After a drought that lasted one and a half months, with a
good sun, here we are at the start of the 2003 harvest.
Nothing can be left to chance, and the work on the vines demands
plenty of attention..
|
| Diseases do
not prosper in this weather, so minimum treatment is necessary.
This means the wine-growers can concentrate on removing leaves
and soil-labouring.
In spite of this dry weather, the vines have found enough reserve
to grow. With this wonderful vegetation, we hope to see optimal
maturity and a harvest that will get through to the end in the
best conditions
